St Martin’s in the Fields
St Martin’s in-the-Fields was in ruins ; the parishioners obtained an Act of Parliament to rebuild it.
Several plans, including one for a circular church, were first rejected.
Its spire is a significant landmark and it appears in Girtin’s panorama.
