London Fairs
Fairs in London in the 18th Century
London and its surroundings were the scene of four important fairs in the 18th century : Mayfair, Tottenham Court Fair, Bartholomew Fair and Southwark Fair. Fairs of lesser importance, such as Welsh Fair, Hounslow Fair and Bow Green Fair were also very popular with Londoners. These bustling annual fairs were special events which brought together all classes of society.
